I’m not like most girls. My beauty bag doesn’t burst with makeup products. I don’t have a ton of brushes, eye shadows and all other amazing stuff which makes your makeup look so professional and absolutely perfect. Don’t get me wrong, I love makeup, and I use it every day but when it comes to colours I’m very picky and it’s usually really hard for me to decide which ones to choose.
That’s how I usually end up with all different shades of nudes and browns because those are the most neutral colours and they match nicely with my eyes. So honestly, for a very long time I had only a few little packets of nude eye shadows and only about a year ago I bought myself my first proper makeup palette. It was Sleek MakeUP Palette “A New Day” which I absolutely love for its neutral shades and good pigmentation, and also the fact that it’s a mineral based product was a big plus!

I love neutral eye shadows, but once in a while I feel the need to bring some colour to my makeup. So I’ve decided to test a different palette from Sleek and I recently got myself this one:
It has a gorgeous mix of shimmer colours and one total matte black. The palette has a lovely range of warm brown and pink shadows plus a little bit of green and blue. I immediately fell in love with the copper shade called “Penny Farthing” (well, that’s brown of course… Figures!). There’s a good selection of shimmery bright shades and a few darker ones for a more dramatic finish.
So I put those shades to test and I did my makeup. The shades which I’ve used were mainly: Big Ben, Penny Farthing and London Eye plus a little bit of London Rain and The Thames. I also highlighted some parts with Cream Tea and darkened some with a tiny bit of Black Cab. I’m not a makeup artist so it isn’t perfect, however here it is and I was really happy with the result.
What I love most about Sleek makeup palettes is these few facts:
- very nice range of eye shadow colours
- great selection of both matte and shimmer eye shadows
- good pigmentation
- long lasting
- mineral based
All products which I used for my makeup:
- PRIMER: Benefit the POREfessional Primer
- FOUNDATION: Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear | 24H Foundation
- CONCEALER: La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Pen Brush Concealer
- CONTOURING: Rimmel Kate Sculpting Palette
- BLUSH: Lancome Blush Subtil
- POWDER: MAC Studio Fix Blot Powder
- EYEBROWS: Wet n Wild Ultimate Brow Kit
- LIPSTICK: L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Exclusive Lip Color (Julianne’s Nude)
- LIP LINER: L’Oreal Lip Liner Couture by Color Riche (302 – Bois De Rose)
- EYE SHADOWS: Sleek MakeUP i-Divine Original Eyeshadow Palette
- MASCARA: Rimmel Volume Shake Mascara
It seems like a lot, but my makeup was very light because I only use very tiny amounts of those cosmetics. Having said that, my overall impression of the eyeshadow palette is very positive and I’ll definitely keep using it more often.
