Sunday is my rest day. And I was so lucky that this Sunday was a really beautiful day which is so rare in Ireland. It was sunny most of the time, but there were also moments of rain. But in the end, the whole day was quite warm and bright.
I had time for a family walk in the nearby park. It was amazing, because the air smelled just like back in Poland, and the place was full of wild flowers, nettle, tall grass and lots of different bushes – my daughter kept saying that it looks like a Polish meadow so I guess it wasn’t only me who had that strange familiar impression 🙂 It was so beautiful. It didn’t even matter that the rain caught us on our way back home, we had some laugh running 😀
When you look closely, you’ll see a heron in the centre of this photo.
When we got back home I’ve decided to take advantage of that rare Irish sun and spent half of the afternoon reading a book in the garden. I’m totally lost in the world of the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and currently I’m in the final book, no.14. The book is huge and I can’t carry it with me to work, so I read bits every now and again… Really hope to finish it soon, although I already begin to miss this story when it ends… It’s so fascinating! I love it!
And I know I said “rest day” in the beginning, but actually in the end it really wasn’t in a 100%. My daughter asked me to do some exercises with her, so in the late afternoon we did Fitness Blender workout for kids. She really enjoyed that! Me too 🙂
So that would be my day. And coincidentally the 14th May is a Mother’s Day in the USA which I wasn’t aware of till I checked my Instagram later that day. I come from Poland where we celebrate it on the 26th May, but I live in Ireland where Mother’s Day is celebrated on the 26th April 😀 Well… I don’t mind having this special day 3 times a year, you know 😉 And today it just so beautifully happened that I had one of the best days I could possibly imagine. I had soooo much rest! The weather was nice, I spent this day with people I love, I had my time with my daughter and I also had that precious “me” time reading the book. It was a good Sunday. I’ve charged my batteries and filled in my happiness bucket till the brim. I couldn’t dream of a better gift for a Mother’s Day.
As regards my other points: meals, water, sleep, internet… Well… I was still not drinking enough water (!) and as for meals… If eating chicken soup and chicken with baked potatoes with massive amount of fat is healthy… then yes, it was OK. At least I wasn’t tempted to eat any sweets and bread, right? 😉
